Florence Master Gardeners assisted with the Moore Intermediate School "Diggin' Deeper" outdoor Lab - an Education Improvement Act (EIA) Teacher Award awarded to Moore's Art Teacher, Sharri Duncan to improve creative and innovative projects to be used in the classroom. First phase was completed on August 1: Turning over existing flower beds in school courtyard, adding/mixing in sand and compost, lay bedding fabric, outline the beds with decorative pavers and mulching. The second phase was completed on August 2nd: Planting foundation plants and laying out pine straw. All of the products were purchased/donated through the grant and the Master Gardeners volunteered with the preparation and planting.
